Maharasa Indonesia: Artisanal Minangkabau

by Athina Ibrahim

Firstly initiated in October 2012, a group of prolific chefs, gourmands, and food curator (Lisa Virgiano, Helianti Hilman, Mei Batubara, chef Ragil Imam Wibowo and chef Adzan Tri Budiman) introduced Maharasa Indonesia as a collaborative effort to promote the wealthy Indonesian artisanal ingredients.

During the event, adaptation of authentic Indonesian culinary culture is presented together through an international standard of presentation, the meticulous techniques the chefs learned from the host culinary culture, and a cultural narrative to further engage us in a well-round sensory experience.

From 21 to 23 June 2013, Maharasa Indonesia will return with the highly respected culinary culture of Minangkabau, West Sumatra. With the focus of cuisines in Padang and Bukit Tinggi region, this second Maharasa Indonesia will give foodies both insights and disdains of the fanatic culinary culture of the Minangkabau’s.

Maharasa Indonesia will feature 17 types of Minangkabau inspired cuisines in a form of degustation menu with a composition of artisanal raw materials cultivated and processed in West Sumatra. This event will be held at the beautiful Akhili Museum of Art. For more information, please email: maharasaindonesia@gmail.com or call +6285690981.
