Ensemble Modern (EM) now will be represented by five musicians. They will be performing musical compositions from Pierre Boulez, Nicolaus A. Huber, Helmut Lachenmann and other composers. EM is a chamber music group based in Frankfurt. Their unique and different performance presents a combination of musical theatre, dance and video project, chamber music and orchestra concert. Some of EM’s works are Ensemble Modern Plays Frank Zappa: Greggery Peccary & Other Persuasions (2003) and Everything is Healing Nicely (1999).

EM has been given several awards, which include the Praetorius Music Prize Lower Saxony (2009) for the musical innovation category from the Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie and “Artist of the Year” (2006) from Beijing Music Festival.
