Having migrated from Amsterdam to Bali after a respectable 25 years as a DJ and producer in Europe, Aardvarck is your DJ’s favourite DJ. His long career has seen him collaborate with a plethora of well-respected labels such as Rush Hour Recordings, Delsin, Skudge, Eat Concrete and faux-Brazilian LA-Based collective Mochilla. His position as Amsterdam’s premier avant-garde dance music figure has made him the Dutch go-to-guy for many like-minded producers like The Gaslamp Killer, Theo Parrish, and Mark Pritchard. He is now ready to bring his vast wealth of musical knowledge to Jakarta in specific and Indonesia in general. This performance took place at Cafe Mondo/Hi Fidelity Kemang.

Maft Sai (Zudrangma Records)

Maft Sai (Zudrangma Records): Maft Sai is one of the most well known music enthusiast in the world. A collector and selector for over a decade, he is perhaps best known for establishing Zudrangma, a record label and record store based in Bangkok, Thailand. Specializing in, but not limited to, Thai Funk, Luk Thung and Molam Music, Zudrangma has become a must-go for any music enthusiast. As described in his website (www.zudrangmarecords.com), Maft Sai spins a “… mixutre of Roots Luk Thung/ Molam to Reggae, West African, Ethiopian, Far Eastern Psyche and underground sounds from around the world.” This will be the most eclectic Cliff Notes yet, be sure to make your way to the event. photo originally from: www.drumandbass-rec.com/

Jonathan ‘Ojon’ Kusuma

It would be wise and accurate to label Jonathan ‘Ojon’ Kusuma as one of the modern pioneers of Indonesian electronic music. Through his partnership with Aryo Adhianto they formed Space System, one of Jakarta’s most respected electronic/disco/house/psych groups, which saw their records released on Glasgow’s Optimo Music and Italy’s Pizzico Records. Having had experience in playing metal, punk and electro-disco as well as having a sizeable record collection, Ojon has also recently established one of Jakarta’s best online vinyl stores, Akamady Music.
