by Muhammad Hilmi

One thing that could underline the wide scope of exploration Sajama Cut is the figure of Marcel Thee as the vanguard of their eclectic discography. Indie rock, noise pop, ambient, folk-rock, baroque pop, lo-fi to electronics are various genres of music that have been explored by Sajama Cut. 4 years later, after the album “Manimal”, Sajama Cut is preparing their 4th album.

The new thing that will be explored in the fourth album is the involvement of Sajama Cut’s personnel. As said by Banu, Sajama Cut’s drummer, “we all have different influences, and we continue to explore new music, from any era. There has never been the same Sajama Cut album from time to time. And the most challenging aspects of this album are how it will show us the integrity of Sajama Cut as a band.” Not only that, this fourth album will also involve wide-scale artistic presentation that will be done with Sajama Cut’s artistic peers, including video art, paintings, illustrations, poetry, to short films.

And with these concepts, Sajama Cut with Elevation Records as a label-which plans to release the album in a variety of formats, has also been preparing a series of eclectic introduction teasers. In this latest teaser video, Sajama Cut again gave a little excerpt from one of the new songs that will be released in the 4th album, along with spoken words from their friends Chris Holms, who read out the pieces of the lyrics of some of the new songs. Those who have keen hearing will capture some of the titles of the new songs from the speech.
