A graduate of RMIT University's Industrial Design program, Alvin Tjitrowirjo earned his stripes joining the Melbourne Movement and Dform to hone his skills as a designer. Establishing his brand, Alvin T, he soon garnered respect from brands, having collaborations with brands such as Volvo and leading design figures such as Yori Antar as well as Sally Koeswanto. We visited Alvin at his office in Kemang where his old friend Chandra Drews chatted with him regarding his background, career, and thoughts on Indonesian design.

Andra Matin is considered the force in the architectural world in Indonesia. His prolific work boasts buildings as Potato Head, Salihara Institute, Dia.Lo.Gue, and also Tanah Teduh. He often plays with the usage of concrete in his design and explains to Whiteboard Journal why he enjoys breaking the conventional stereotypes in architecture. The interview was conducted at his spacious home where it acted as the prime example of our conversation.
