To throw an impressive party during the grand launch of a hotel is no small feat. Yet, Kosenda Hotel, the first and only boutique hotel in Jakarta, accomplished it with aplomb. Given the amount of limited space that Kosenda Hotel is built on, it’s hard not to hold back your awe once you step into it. Perhaps that was the point, to demonstrate the hotel’s incredible feat of spatial management, even though the latter is not the only highlight of the lodging.

The night started with an intimate dinner in Waha Kitchen hosted by Ruben Kosenda, the owner of the Hotel himself. Guests sunk easily into the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant while delight in all-time favourite Peranakan dishes, Laksa and sipped tropical fruit juices. The contemporary design of the restaurant that marries the old and new aesthetic also provides plenty of conversation starters for the guests.

However, the high-note of the night was the rooftop party held at the hotel’s Awan Lounge. The combination of discreetly achieved lighting and music was as lethal as the cocktails and wine. In addition, charming night view on the skyline of Jakarta elevated the sophisticated ambience.

No doubt, Kosenda Hotel managed to tick all the boxes effortlessly and also proves to be the shining example of David amongst the Goliaths of big name hotels in the heart of vibrant Jakarta.
