The alteration of the notorious drug-lord’s mansion into a luxurious boutique hotel will certainly be inviting limitless attention to the result, which serves as an aesthetically-pleasing holiday destination displaying only art dealer Lio Malca’s impeccable taste within its walls and rooms. Located in Tulum, Mexico, the ‘Casa Malca’ estate was bought by Malca in 2012 and has since been on a journey to ‘come back to life.’

With its floors, walls, and spaces filled up with only chic decors, perhaps the temptation to marvel at its glamorous elements would make it difficult to imagine that it once belonged to crime-related big shot. Malca certainly has succeeded in redefining the space, reinterpreting it into a wonder-worthy home for art and returning its soul.whiteboardjournal, logo
