Bazaar Art Jakarta Enters Its Fifth Year

by wjournal

Last night in Ritz-Carlton’s Ballroom at Pacific Place, a throng of thrilled crowd gathered in anticipation of probably one of the biggest social events in Jakarta. Passerby will be forgiven for assuming it is a stylish party thrown by an elite socialite, where in fact it is the opening of this year’s Bazaar Art Jakarta & Casa by Bravacasa.

Every year, Bazaar Art Jakarta provides the platform for art lovers and even the public to discover, appreciate and collect the country’s most visionary and contemporary artworks. Now in its fifth year, the fair is at its most extensive and splendid coverage of art yet. Visitors are treated to a diverse selection of impressive art pieces ranging from the renowned modern artists such as Hendra Gunawan and Arifien Neif whose paintings are rich in character and style to more contemporary conceptual artist like Erwin Windu Pranata.

Other than that, talks will also be held throughout the event. To wit, Deddy Kusuma, an avid art collector, and Curator Rizki A. Zaelani will be discussing about the subject in 40th Years of Collecting Arts. The fair is also joined by Casa by Bravacasa, an exhibition of products for quality premium modern living that includes works from local and international designers.

The event is free for public and will run from July 19 to July 21, 2013.
