Goethe Institut Jakarta presents: ARTHOUSE CINEMA: Der Mann der über Autos sprang

The next installment of the ArtHouse Cinema programme on Tuesday, the 12th of August. This time will be screening a German film Der Mann der über Autos sprang.

The whole world forms a coherent structure of energy. Julian is convinced that with the power of walking, he can heal his best friends’ father who suffers from a heart disease. On his long way through Germany, he fatefully meets the young doctor Ju. After one of her patients’ death, she doubts herself and her profession. Electrified by Julians determination and conviction, the usually pragmatically thinking realist Ju joins the mysterious visionary Julian.

Der Mann der über Autos sprang is the first feature film by German filmmaker Nick Baker-Monteys. The magical roadmovie was, inter alia, awarded with two prizes at International Film Festival Aubagne 2011 (Best Film, Best Film Score) and also distinguished with the title “Extremely Valuable” by German Film- and Media-Evaluation.
