Europe on Screen is back again with best films of Europe on 29 April-8 May 2016 in Jakarta, Medan, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Bali.

After The Tone (2014)

“After the Tone” is not exactly an ordinary film. The main character is Onno’s answering machine. Onno is not available. We hear voicemail messages of friends and relatives.

We see what the callers see: images of a business park in Amsterdam to a palm beach in the Pacific. On the day that Onno has won an important prize, he disappeared. And no one knows where to and why. Through the voice-mail messages we hear how those around him deal with that.
