Jakarta Service Jam

by Athina Ibrahim

Jakarta Service Jam is part of the Global community service hours, The Global Service Jam it self is a works in just the same way. But it’s not music you are Jamming – it’s ideas. You’ll be working with people you might never have met before, bouncing ideas off one another and building on what bounces back. And it’s not just talking – you are here to turn your ideas into a concrete design, prototype and plan of action which you or somebody else might want to make real. Can you prototype and plan it in a way that someone could go out and make it real, knowing what resources they would need, what they should do, and who they should talk to? That’s the challenge of the Jam.

Yes! The concept might sound similar to the music jamming session. In a spirit of experimentation, innovation, co-operation and friendly competition, teams will have less than 48 hours to develop and prototype completely new services inspired by a shared theme. Not just a show of skill, but we will be divided into one group to share experiences to help solve the problem that we’re dealing with ideas, plans and solve a problems together and ofcourse jamming session this time will be more creative.

This time Jakarta Service Jam will be held on the weekend. To expand on the whole that is not always routine already underway will be static like that, if successful, it could even be published to the entire world and it can become a trademark in itself.

By join Jakarta Service Jam, you have a great way to learn how to ideate and think creatively, and conceptualize the ideas into a real-life service solution. It is also a good opportunity to network as you will work in collaboration with people who share the same passion in design, share the motivation, entrepreneurship, and creativity.
