Ariel Nayaka or better known as A. Nayaka is one of the few English-speaking rappers in Indonesia who has gained recognition over time from his projects such as the “Blue Room Boys” and features with other musicians. Along with his recent collaboration with Dipha Barus, he has just released his third album entitled “Cadence Blue” earlier this year which saw him grew as a rapper. With a more thorough exploration of sound coming from a variety of references, here are 5 inspirations for Nayaka’s “Cadence Blue”.

Drake’s “Take Care” and Travis Scott’s “Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight”

Listening to 2 albums nonstop which became my main reference for the album’s feel (Drake’s Take Care & Travis Scott’s Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight).

A way to reach more audiences

The growth of the English language in Indonesian music has the potential to become a national export to international ears. “Cadence Blue” is my spearhead to not only raise the standards of music here in Indonesia, but also to reach out abroad.

To inspire the younger generation

As a statement of inspiration to the younger generation that it is possible to chase dreams. “If I can make an album by just being myself and staying true to my passion, anyone can do anything”.

Finding cadence

To allow others to find their cadence. Which simply means everybody is unique and good at something, you just have to work hard to find what it is, and work harder to be the best at that field.

His parents’ support

To show my parents how serious I am with music, and I am very blessed of their continuous support.whiteboardjournal, logo
