DJ Spun’s Rong Music is one of the most interesting labels on the planet right about now. Its genre-defying catalogue says as much about the artists as it does about the man behind the label. Since 2003 he has headed up the groundbreaking record label, a dual imprint collaboration with DFA, Tu Rong , and finally Promo Only – which brought the world wide disco edit craze to America.

For 7 years Spun was the curator and organizer of MoMA/P.S.1’s prestigious Warm Up Music Series, known as “NYC’s best Summertime Party”. Currently his “All Night Rong Party” (usually with DJ Harvey) has developed a world wide cult following and is one of NYC’s most looked forward to events.

Those in the know are loving his “Originals Vol. 7” compilation CD on Claremont 56 and looking forward to new BlakSpun releases on Ellum Audio.

DJ Spun recorded this set on July 30, 2013 in NYC.
