A few chunks of Robotic Empire Records, an independent record label based out of Richmond – Virginia.

Greetings everyone! We’re back with another special episode of Heartattack featuring my man Yudhistira (it’s his second turn here!). Well this time he will be giving us few chunks of Robotic Empire Records, an independent record label based out of Richmond – Virginia which focuses on releasing hardcore/punk/metal as well as any subgenre derived from them. Without further due, enjoy the 24th installment of Heartattack!

Robotic Empire Records is a DIY label out of Richmond, Virginia that is responsible in shaping my taste in music in my teens/early adolescent era (thanks, the internet). I was getting deeper and deeper into the world of hardcore/punk/metal/extreme music and found comfort in RE’s roster. It still amazes me how so many bands on this label sound absolutely nothing alike. I mean this label hosts Pig Destroyer (grindcore), Kayo Dot (avant-garde/experimental/ambient), Pgymy Lush (folk) and Jesu. If you like your hardcore/punk/indie rock/metal different, at times weird and daring compared to the more straight-up conventional ones, you’ll find lots of gems here.

Here’s a few songs off Robotic Empire’s discography that made a big impression on me back then. Maybe you’ll like them too

01. Hot Cross – Putting The Past Right
02. Circle Takes The Square – Crowquill
03. Stop It! – Name + Number
04. Pg 99 – My Application To Heaven
05. Verse En Coma – Through Ice Patches And Pine Trees
06. Torche – Mentor
07. Daughters – And Then The C.h.u.d.s Came
08. Ultra Dolphins – William’s Nightmare
09. Isis – Backlitwhiteboardjournal, logo
