The Jakarta International Photo Summit – JIPS #3: City of Waves

In the thirds edition of this triennale, JIPS 2014, both the National Gallery of Indonesia and Galeri Foto Jurnalistik Antara attempt to position the theme of ‘maritime’ and ‘global maritime’ as a way to look at diversity within our own society, as well as to look at the universal maritime tradition as rumah betang – a house of peace, a meeting place of diverse ideas and commitments for a better and wiser future of our seas.

City of Waves is a meeting place of works by around seventy six Indonesian photographers and thirteen foreign photographers. Here we will see the visual expression of the issue close to the artists and photographers.
