Made in Commons: Indonesian Iteration

“Made in Commons: Indonesian Iteration” at the Jogja National Museum. The public presentation will run from 13th until 25th March 2015.

This event is an attempt to punctuate, represent and reflect following a whole year of critical investigation on/through commons via conversation, reading group, action-research, artists residency, and social practice conducted by artists, art collectives, researchers, community activists and members alike.

Designated as the second installment of Made in Commons long-term project which was held for the first time in Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam (SMBA) in 2013, the 2.0 version underlines the process of creating collective moments and the funneling of all resources mobilized by those who are involved to the process of iterating such moments. These things are (re-)produced through methodically organizing actors and actions around durational and temporal engagements in theorizing and practicing commons.

The list of participants of the show curated by Syafiatudina of KUNCI Cultural Studies Center includes: Artlab ruangrupa (Hauritsa, Angga Cipta), Fajar Riyanto & Asandini Mei Juningrum (ID), ketjilbergerak & RLZT (ID), Komunitas Ledhok Timoho (ID), Lab PEL (Elia Nurvista, Lisistrata Lusandiana, Savytri Puspitasari), Nuraini Juliastuti & Gatari Suryakusuma (ID), Setu Legi (ID), Reinaart Vanhoe (NL), Read-In (Annete Krauss, Laura Pardo, Hyuju Chung, Serena Lee), Setu Legi (ID), Simon Kentgens (NL), Wok the Rock & @plesirseni (ID).

In conjuction with the public presentation, a discursive gathering “Conversation Across Commons” will be also held between 16th-18th March 2015, also in JNM. The set of activities are all free for public thanks to the generous support of Arts Collaboratory
