Run the Jewels berkolaborasi bersama Royal Blood untuk versi baru dari lagu “The Ground Below”. Melalui sebuah post singkat di Twitter resmi mereka, Run the Jewel mengumumkan bahwa mereka sedang bekerja sama dengan duo musisi asal Brighton ini. 

Dalam detik pertama lagu ini terdengar suara vokal Killer Mike yang diiringi dengan dentuman bass Mike Kerr dari Royal Blood menjadi komplementer yang apik. Kolaborasi antara kedua musisi ini dideskripsikan oleh Royal Blood sebagai “a defiant, powerful and completely overhauled sequel”. Kedua musisi ini juga berharap aliansi mereka akan berumur panjang.

EL-P dari Run the Jewels berkomentar : “We’re big fans of each other’s bands. A while back, we hung out and played each other songs we love – one of mine was Gang Of Four’s ‘Ether’, which I later sampled for the ground below. Mike and I thought it would be cool to get Royal Blood’s take on the ground below – we sent it off to them and they killed it.”

Kolaborasi ini terjadi setelah pada bulan lalu single “No Save Point” milik Run the Jewels yang menjadi soundtrack dalam “Cyberpunk 2077” akhirnya debut. Kolaborasi antara Royal Blood dan Run the Jewel ini dapat dilihat melalui tautan di bawah ini.
